Sending a huge congratulations to our very own Tom Wickham, who has just been selected to make his Kookaburras debut in the upcoming test series against Korea. TJ has been based in Perth since 2011, after winning our PL Men's Best and Fairest award in 2010.

We know TJ will represent himself, the club and his country proudly, and I'm sure all FHC members wish him the absolute best in both his debut series and for the future as a Kookaburra.

If you are aged 33 years or above, we would love to see you in the Masters team.  (The age limit is 35, with allowance for two players to be aged 33-35).

The women's masters play on Monday nights, and are always looking for new players.  A great way to have an extra run for the week, or to ease your way back into hockey if you have had a few years off.

Additionally, the 2013 Australian Women's Masters Hockey Championships is in Adelaide this year, so if you are interested, make sure you check the Hockey SA website for nomination details and trial dates.

One of the trials will be the Masters Carnival on Sunday 26 May at Woodville.  The Club has entered a team, so if you are interested in being seen by selectors this may be a good option.

FHC has several “senior” members playing in Auckland, NZ representing Australia in the 2013 Trans Tasman Challenge. This is a three Test Match series which is played every couple of years between New Zealand & Australia.  On this occasion, Australia is sending teams in the O’40, O’45, O’50, O’55 & O’60 age groups.  Forestville has three players participating in this event, Peter Neagle (Over 60’s) and Peter Garlick & Peter Schembri (Over 55’s).

Later in the year FHC will be represented by Rod Dyson and Ian Macdonald who will be playing in the over 65 Australian team to tour South Korea and Japan.

Overall, FHC has five representatives in 2013 Australian Men's Masters hockey teams out of a total of nine South Aussie’s selected into Australian teams this year.  Selections were established at the Australian Men's Masters Hockey Championships held in Hobart last October.

Good Sports RSA training for May/June 2013 gets underway in Golden Grove on Monday night, 13th May (6-10pm).

This will be followed by RSA training at Felixstow, Aldinga & Seacliff.

Course costs $50 p/p (for Good Sports accredited clubs).

Registrations are essential and can be made directly to TAFE SA. All clubs/attendees are invoiced after the course has been run.
