Hookin2Hockey (formerly Minkey) Commences - Saturday 3rd March from 9.00 -10.00am
For Children from approximately 5 years and older
We are starting Hookin2hockey in March so we can have an introductory small season before school holidays. I would like to encourage all of last year’s Hookin2hockey players to come out again and even have a go in the U9 teams. You can do both so if you start on Saturdays and would like to have a run on Sunday you are welcome.
We will also be running Hookin2Hockey programs in Term 2 and 3.
Remember to bring a friend with you. If you do we will have some prizes for you.
Where: Forestville Hockey Club, Fairfax Ave Millswood. (Enter near the cricket nets)
All equipment is provided. Just turn up with your drink bottle for some fun.
Hookin2Hockey is targeted at primary school aged children approximately 5-12 years old although we do have a few younger who have a great time.
It doesn’t cost anything to give it a try. If you would like to continue it runs for 12 weeks.
Hookin2Hockey is modified Hockey operated in a highly supervised environment. It is a safe and fun way to try Hockey.
Is Hookin2Hockey for both boys and girls?
Yes. Programs can be run for mixed groups or separately for boys or girls.
Is there a minimum or maximum age that you have to be to take part?
Hookin2Hockey is targeted at primary school aged children approximately 5-12 years old. As a rough guide the age groups that each staged is aimed at are:
School = 5-8 years old (Minkey) Saturday mornings starting term 2
Community Stage 1 = 5-8 years old (Under 9 Competition)
Community Stage 2 = 9-12 years old (Under 11 Competition)
What ability is Hookin2Hockey aimed at?
The Hookin2Hockey program has been developed in three stages for children of all abilities to enjoy.
Is Hookin2Hockey safe?
YES! There are a number of things that make Hookin2Hockey a safe and fun program:
· Activities in the Coaching Pack (session planner) are designed to allow participants to learn the basic skills of the game in a controlled environment
· A special, lighter than normal, hockey ball is used
· All participants receive a pair shin guards to wear and keep
· Leaders should not have more than 15 participants in their groups
· Only one person is allowed to tackle another at one time
How much is it to participate in a Hookin2Hockey program?
Beginners – (Saturday Morning Program)
Starting Term 2 - $30 includes the H2H Goal Pack, term 3 if you wish to continue is $10.00
Under 9 and U11 who wish to join and receive the goal pack $25

How do I register for Hookin2Hockey?
1. If your local Hookin2Hockey centre offers online registrations you can register here.

Do my parents/ guardian need to read the online registration form, fill it in and agree to the term and conditions before I can participate in Hookin2Hockey?
Yes. It is important that all the details on the online registration form are completed and the terms and conditions are agreed too before a participant starts a Hookin2Hockey program.
How do I pay to register my child for a program?
Online registrations must be paid for using a debit or credit card. Payments made directly to a Centre (club or association) can be made at the Registration Day by cash, or cheque, depending on the Centre.
