Hockey SA response to Coronavirus
The club has received advice on the March 18th 2020 from Hockey SA that all games and training will be cancelled until further notice in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This advice is consistent with the position adopted by Hockey Australia.
We understand that the Hockey Australia and Hockey SA response is intended to both ensure:
- The health of hockey players is not put at risk
- The hockey community supports measures which will slow the spread of the virus throughout the Australian population.
The club management committee supports the Hockey SA position and confirm that the club will not play any competitions or conduct training sessions until further notice. We are unable, at this time, to determine when competitions and training will recommence-we will continue to monitor circumstances and respond accordingly.
If you need more information about the Coronavirus and the things you can do to avoid infection and contribute to slowing its spread please go to the Health.gov.au website-
Registration and membership fees
We acknowledge the postponement of the Hockey SA metropolitan competition may require changes to the structure and timing of the competitions. If this occurs, we would anticipate adjustments to our major costs which may require a review of our club fees.
Given this uncertainty we ask you not to pay your membership fees until further notice.
We know that some club members have paid their membership fees already-either through the on-line registration system or by EFT to the club bank account. The club will contact members who have paid their fees already and discuss what they would like to do.
If you have any queries about membership fees please email TreasurerFHC@outlook.com.
Keeping you up to date
We will keep you as up to date as possible through Facebook and newsletters. Please look after yourselves, stay up to date on the pandemic from reputable sources, and listen to government advice.
Let’s be positive and hope that we will be able to play some hockey later in the year.
